The Thread.

The etchings of Mark Visione seek to reconcile the intimate with the universal, the physical feel and appearance of reality with its emotional and cerebral flow.

The inspirational sources for the exhibited works are many and varied - Classical, Judeo-Christian, Japanese.

But at the same time the works are unified by a desire to express the nature of the thread, shaped and reshaped by time but never broken that is our creative impulse.

Often the visual language used in the etchings is that used in the past to suggest the world of gods and heroes, but here it suggests a world of sincere and ephemeral emotions, of human weakness and desire.
